AFJ JUBILEE CHRISTMAS TREE PARTY

The Ambassadors For Jesus and Melvyn Brown had their annual Jubilee Christmas Tree on Sunday 13th December 2015 at the Divine Mercy Chapel, Calcutta.
Children from several parishes in the city attended and a few children from the suburbs graced the fun-filled occasion which began at eleven in the morning. (see pics).

AFJ Founder Melvyn Brown was Father Christmas and he helped in giving away the gifts and prizes won by the children. Melvyn was assisted by his team of associates. Games galore won prizes for all participants, and all the children were treated to bags of presents to take away home, which included delightful edibles.
The members, associates and co-workers of the AFJ came forward in a big way to make the annual treat a big success. Our Founder thanks all those souls responsible in making this party in celebration of the birth of Jesus a memorable event.

MAKE THE CHOICE By Melvyn Brown

When Janet fell in love and married, she became a full-time housewife, then a mother of three, and a very contented woman. But all her friends prodded her with the assumption that had she made a right choice and opted to be a career-woman she would have been financially well off, with much material property and wealth.
Janet smiled. She was happy with the way things were, and would not have asked for more. Her husband was a good man – she never felt for wanting more. Her children were growing up and they were well placed.
For Janet the right choice had been made, to flow with the stream, and to trust in God. Making the right choice in life could be attributed to character and personality; having the cutting edge, being bold, or adventurous; knowing when to weigh the pros and cons before taking the plunge.
Sometimes it could drive a person to being unethical. I remember Janet saying: “We did the best thing we could after looking at our advantages and thinking positively. It worked out”.

Melvyn Brown's Christmas Tree- Calcutta 2014

AFJ CHRISTMAS AT THE CHAPEL THIS YEAR

The Ambassadors For Jesus, Calcutta chapter, brought in the Spirit of the season last Sunday at the Chapel of Divine Mercy, designed to prepare the yuletide for Christ’s holy arrival.

The AFJ annual Christmas treat for less-privileged Catholic children was organized under the direction of their founder Melvyn Brown, and the event catered to ages 6-12 years.

The focus this year (the year of Consecrated Life) drew attention to the values of the Gospels, to courage, evangelizing the Word and to holiness.

Melvyn Brown used the medium of songs and games to ‘Awaken’ the urge in youngsters (see pic. of Melvyn with some of the children) helping his audience to enrich the faith with their visions. The pre-Christmas celebration was witnessed by friends, parents, and well- wishers. AFJ NEWS.
